The need for healthcare professionals has never been greater than during the COVID-19 pandemic. To help meet this need, Charmaine Hogan, BSN, RN, CCM, and WCN-C, established All Is Well Health Care Academy in 2021. Charmaine Hogan is a veteran of the healthcare industry who has a deep understanding of the challenges facing healthcare workers today. With more than 20 years of experience in healthcare, she has climbed the ladder to the top!
In 2001, Charmaine started her healthcare career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) while attending high school in Louisiana. She received her inspiration from the many other women she grew up with who were also CNAs. Raised by her grandparents, She grew up in a four-bedroom house with 12 other people. So, after working as a CNA for five years, Charmaine wanted to further her career and make her grandparents proud.
She then went back to school, became a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), and continued to provide fantastic care to the patients she worked with. In 2010, Charmaine moved to Texas and helped open up a Baylor magnet hospital. She was one of the first nurses who worked there, taking on many roles as an LVN, assisting in building the hospital into what it is today.
A year later, LVNs started to become phased out of the hospital setting. Charmaine seized this opportunity to further her career path and become an RN. She started a bridge program for LVN to RN, where she received her associate's degree and continued to work in the hospital setting. Later, she continued her education to receive her bachelor's degree and obtain her BSN.
Charmaine has held many positions as a nurse and still works as a nurse today. She has worked in leadership and management positions helping her peers provide exceptional patient care. She continued her training and is now a Certified Case Manager and Certified Wound Care Nurse. Today, she is currently working on her master's degree to receive her MSN in education.
In 2019, Charmaine created a mobile emergency training school named All was Well Healthcare Solutions. She focused on educating and certifying people in CPR, first aid, and other emergency needs. When the COVID-19 pandemic started, Charmaine was still working in the hospital setting. She recognized there was a need for adequately trained healthcare workers.
Charmaine saw the shortage of healthcare workers available and the need for better trained people during the pandemic. Seeing the people who wanted to jump in and help but needed more education, she viewed it as another opportunity to teach those who want to help others. When the COVID-19 restrictions lessened, she expanded her business to become All is Well Health Care Academy.
When talking about her students, Charmaine sees "the ambition in some of them [her students] and wants to guide them into the right direction, that the path they are on is the path they want to take." She said she is in nursing for her passion for helping people and wants to find out why someone signs up for one of her programs to ensure it is right for them. Using her leadership and management skill to her advantage, she helps students understand the importance of working in health care.
"All is well, and all will be well" is a meaningful saying that her grandmother used to tell Charmaine when she was caring for her. Now, All is Well is her business name and motto when she educates her students. Her goal is to create a healthcare environment where providers are educated and appropriately trained to care for patients.
"You get up every day, and you push through," Charmaine comments noting she wants to "encourage my [her] students that if you want it, there's a will and there's a way." She recalls that her journey to success today was challenging, and there is no straight path to success. Charmaine is still working on her journey to help others become proficient healthcare professionals.
All is Well Health Care Academy offers different medical training programs in person, online, and hybrid allied health classes to suit anyone's needs. Charmaine is looking to expand into other states and offer various courses in the future. While running her training programs, she still works full-time as a nurse and raises her three kids.
All is well Health Care Academy is the first of its kind in Little Elm, Texas, offering classes from CNA courses, medical billing, phlebotomy, certified medical assisting, and many more. Knowing it is not easy to go to college and deal with everything life throws at you, Charmaine mentions that "not everybody is designed to go to a four-year college. If you can get your foot in the door with a certificate, that is better than not having anything."

Charmaine inspires others in the healthcare field and her students starting. When asked what advice she would give her students, she said, "if you have a goal, break it down into manageable steps and achieve it."
